The Hon. John Ajaka

John Ajaka began his distinguished career in law and mediation, being admitted as a solicitor in 1982. Between 1983 to 2011, John was Senior Partner of three Law Firms: Cohen Ajaka Walter Solicitors, John Ajaka Lawyers and Ajaka Gestakovski Lawyers. 

For almost 30 years, John had an extensive practice in Commercial Law, Property, Leasing, Probate, Compensation, Family Law, and General Litigation. 

He entered the NSW Parliament in 2007, as a Member of the Legislative Council, bringing with him years of legal experience and a commitment to public service. 

From 2013 to 2017, John served as the NSW Minister for Disability Services, Ageing, Volunteering, Youth, and Multiculturalism. John served as President of the NSW Legislative Council from 2017 to 2021. 

John Ajaka retired from Parliament in 2021 and continued his leadership in various corporate sectors, including serving as Chair of the Board for the Sydney Local Health District. John currently serves as a Non-Executive Director on a number of Boards. 

John is fluent in the Arabic Language and is available for in person mediations nationwide and locally in Sydney, NSW.
